SJIU also offers its students the chance to become involved in the local community with various Volunteer Opportunities and Service Projects related to the environment. This type of internship places students in direct contact with everyday life, and helps them to learn the language and increases their sense of civic duty and responsibility.
SJIU's staff will work with students interested in this program to find the volunteer program that is most interesting to them. As with internship placements, SJIU staff will periodically meet with the students to assist them in making the most of their volunteer opportunity.
