UNDERGRADUATE APPLICATION PROCESS
In order to apply to a SJIU program, candidates must provide the following for review by the Admissions Office:
- Fully completed application forms - See links below to download or apply online!
- A written statement of purpose (max 2 pages in length)
- Official Transcripts: Official transcripts of all secondary and post-secondary school work to date are required. These transcripts must be mailed directly from the issuing institution when possible. If applying from a school system where official transcripts are not mailed, it is the student’s responsibility to present the original or a notarized copy of his/her academic documentation. Students who are still enrolled in secondary school must provide a copy of their diploma upon graduation
- Verification of Academic Credentials Form
- At least two letters of recommendation written by a recent teacher, administrator or college counselor at the applicant’s most recent school
- Three-size photographs (1-1/2" x 2") with only the face visible. SJIU asks that the students sign the back of each photo in black ink
- A photocopy of a valid form of identification such as a passport
- A non-refundable application fee of 50 Euros (see section Payment Method under Tuition and Fees for SJIU bank coordinates)
- Standardized Test Results: Students who are attending or who have attended American secondary schools either in the U.S. or abroad must provide the results of their Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT)
- Financial Responsibility Form.

ADMISSION EVALUATION
Admission evaluation will be based on several factors. SJIU seeks students who have maturity, responsibility, openness to ideas and the desire to contribute to and benefit from a university study program.
The Admissions Office will evaluate the following:
- The record of the high-school diploma (or equivalent), proof of successful completion of secondary school in the applicant’s home country, or of another college
- Letters of recommendation
- The applicant’s written statement of purpose
- Additional material demonstrating student qualities and achievements (such as a portfolio , resume or certificates)
- Standardized test scores (such as the SAT, ACT, and TOEFL)
- Extracurricular activities and work experience
- Financial Responsibility Form
