Student Government
The student body is represented by the Student Government, a university-wide student government association composed of a minimum of three members and a maximum of nine members. It is composed of students elected every year in September.
The organization promotes the common welfare of the students, which it does by sponsoring programs and services and through acting as the voice of the student body.
Each year, the Student Government will elect from within its representative body the following:
1. two representatives for the Academic Senate
2. two representatives for the Self Evaluation Committee and
3. two representatives for the Academic Standards Committee
Work-Study
SJIU offers students the opportunity to work for the school under SJIU’s work-study program. Student workstudy positions are available in the school library, admissions office, study abroad office, and general administration. Compensation will be deducted from the tuition fee and it will not be paid in cash.
Please note: if students wish to be considered for financial aid, scholarships or work-study, they should submit their application for admission as early as possible. Any study abroad student wishing to use financial aid while at SJIU should inquire with their home institution.
