Message from the President, St. John International University

Benvenuti!

I welcome you to St. John International University!

The cornerstone of a St. John International University experience is Environmental Studies and Sustainable Development. These components are an integral part of the curricula that integrates academic and cultural disciplines designed to enrich and enhance the student’s overall University experience in Torino-Vinovo.

The principal challenge for our students is not so much the cultural assimilation of Italy, but rather, learning about the multi-faceted dimensions of the environment and sustainable development, understanding how to manage changes in these areas, and maintain stable socio-economic relationships within a fluid global environment. 

Because no single university blueprint exists, achieving that goal is not easy. However, the faculty and staff of St. John International are dedicated to teaching and building a “distinctive and top tier” University. The students will acquire an integrative foundation which is built upon ideas and theories but applied to practical, day-to-day situations.

The educational framework applied at St. John International is grounded in organizational leadership so that, our students understand more fully how interpersonal dynamics, through daily sharing of personal reflections and social interactions, promote a more “open and nurturing” campus environment for personal growth and maturity.

The University experience at St. John International is also a continuous, lifelong learning opportunity because the students are asked to demonstrate individual leadership both inside and outside the classroom. Our faculty and staff are also asked to demonstrate individual leadership within the University; teaching and advising students, interfacing with local businesses and cultural constituencies, cultivating strategic contacts to heighten St. John International’s awareness, and maintain well-honed organizational skills: all of these attributes coalesce while performing multiple, concurrent positions as mentor, surrogate parent, and supportive and compassionate teacher.

It is my belief that the overarching success of a University experience at St. John International will be measured by the enthusiasm, motivation and creativity of the students; who are emboldened and attempt to transcend the customary bounds of higher education learning, with new campus initiatives through environmental studies and sustainability. The result will be a higher level of maturity exhibited by our students who will enter society and rightfully can be called, “citizen leaders” of tomorrow!
