ADMISSION EVALUATION
The number of students permitted to participate in the Master’s program will be determined every year based upon the following factors: space available in the institution, the size of the departments and enrolment requirements. If the number of requests is superior to the number of places available, students will be admitted based on: the Admission Office’s judgment on the student qualifications and SJIU’s responsibilities towards New Hampshire students. It is the responsibility of the Admissions Office to verify students’ credentials and certificates. The final decision, however, will be made by the respective Departments. Satisfying the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission if the number of requests exceed the available places.
Regarding candidate’s eligibility, the Department can give their approval based on various factors such as:
• Degrees and grades
• Statement of purpose
• Resume/Curriculum Vitae
• Letters of recommendation
• Test scores
• Relevant work experience
The interest that the student has for pursuing the Master will also be considered. Candidates who do not meet the basic requirements may, for legitimate reasons, appeal to the Academic Standard Committee. Appealing to the Academic Standard Committee, students must send a written declaration in which the reasons for this are specified. For appeals relative to grades, students must send a written statement to the teacher indicating the exact reason for which he/she wishes the grade to be modified.
