There is a wide choice of sports complexes in Torino as well as the possibility to practice many different sport activities. Piemonte, boasting 53 ski resorts and 1,300 kilometers of ski slopes, is the ideal destination for winter sports enthusiasts. Students can find facilities for wall climbing and can also make excursions on snow-topped mountains. There are also ideal locations for horseback riding and archery. For students who love to row, there are plenty of rowing clubs along the Po River. In Piemonte there are also beautiful golf greens open 6 months out of the year. Every year there is Torino Marathon, a prestigious 42K race which can be classified as one of the most important marathons, comparable to those of New York, London, Berlin and Paris. Torino is also famous worldwide for its two important soccer teams: Juventus and Torino. Watching a soccer match in the company of Italians could be a fun way to get to know another side of Italian culture.
