A Message from the President

Welcome to a University that is American by design and international in influence and institutional culture. You will find a true “academic home” here. We are an intimate global community that embraces you and your unique talents and background. However important your past life and experiences may be in defining the person you are today, our University is absorbed in and motivated by the far more compelling matter of your future. We inquire and seek with you and each of our students the transforming answers to the ultimate question, “What are you going to do with your life?”

Whether you are enrolled as a full-time graduate or undergraduate student, or enter our EuroBridge-US or one of our Study Abroad programs, you will find that our faculty and staff are singularly focused on your ambitions, your dreams, and the positive change that you will bring to a future that is both global and hungering for engaged and ethical leaders and citizens.

At the very core of our curriculum is the theme of “sustainability”. Both in the classroom and through the University’s experiential and co-curricular opportunities, our faculty and students engage actively in exploring the horizons and the richness of the concepts and implications of global sustainability, as these are approached across the disciplines. This thematic core offers the University an institutional foundation, set on an international stage, which is both timely and timeless. Our curriculum, however robust, is not the sole force attracting students to SJIU. Once on our campus in Vinovo (suburban Torino) in the beautiful Piemonte region of northern Italy or on our branch campus in the province of Veneto, current and prospective students are quick to recognize that the University’s setting itself affords an ideal international location for exploration and reflection, both academic and personal.

St. John International University is the first and only American university in Italy chartered and authorized to award graduate degrees. We are also a young and dynamic institution that is unabashed in pursuing our distinct mission of placing “people, planet, and profits” in harmony. In all that we accomplish as a community of teaching, research, and service, SJIU is distinguished by high academic standards, an entrepreneurial spirit, and an unwavering dedication to the professional and personal success of our students.
