CERTIFICATE IN MUSEUM STUDIES
The SJIU Certificate in Museum Studies offers students and museum operators the opportunity to investigate the expanding field of museum activities and research. Theoretical, historical, technical and managerial aspects of museums and other cultural agencies dealing with exhibition practices will be explored under a multi-disciplinary perspective.
This course will explore the benefits of a sustainable museum culture that is able both to attract visitors and to create profits in the local economy conserving also its educational mission, the dialogue with local communities and the care for cultural heritage that belongs to present and further generations. Class-lectures and campus activities will be enriched by practical exercises, museum visits and meetings with outstanding experts from the Italian museum world.
